In 1990 Monsanto announced the Monsanto Pledge – an undertaking as far as environmental responsibility. Monsanto is now a new company solely devoted to agriculture. A new pledge was developed to help fulfill the company’s promise for sustainable agriculture. This new pledge is made up of the following five elements – dialogue, transparency, sharing, sharing in benefits, and respect.
Monsanto Company has incorporated a marketing tagline, consisting of the word "imagine" with the "ag" highlighted, into its standard logo. This is to convey the message that Monsanto is an innovative, agricultural company that creates relevant solutions for growers, consumers and the environment.
The tagline, Monsanto Imagine, was chosen as a forward-thinking, open and positive way to communicate Monsanto's dedication to the agricultural business. The word 'imagine' is an open invitation for dialogue consistent with The Monsanto Pledge. Highlighting the 'ag' reinforces our position as an innovative agricultural company with unlimited possibilities. The direct simplicity of the concept is user-friendly and translates well across many languages.
